Rage Arts is a registered charity and an arts organisation. This is what we do:-
and why we do it.
We create productions using film, theatre and music and give others the opportunity to do the same.
Through taking part in these projects participants increase their self-esteem and self-confidence and gain skills to help them take the next step in their life whether that's in education, to return to education, seek employment or take the next step in their careers.
We predominantly work with those who are or are in danger of becoming socially excluded.
We run drama workshops actively involving children aged 4 to 11 in creating an exciting show which resonates with our young audience because they have been part of creating it. We tour each year to 3,000 children and their families throughout the West Midlands and surrounding counties.
We take the theatre and workshops to schools and community venues so as to remove the transport cost and give children the chance to see theatre in a setting they are familiar with.
We subsidise the cost of our services in order to make them affordable to as many people as possible.
We provide work for professional artistes.
We assist people to create their own productions by providing resources, advice and expertise. We are interested in working with other companies on co-productions.
We are currently working on The Nutcracker touring to primary schools this Christmas. We also have an Urban Film Club project which we hope to do early in 2022.and as part of this we are running The Song Writing Challenge getting children to write the lyrics for the songs for the show.
We are able to run activities thanks to the support of donors, our friends of Rage Arts and trusts. If you would like to support our work then please either make a one off donation through our donation button or if you can and you would like to make an annual donation then become a friend of Rage Arts.
Rage Arts established in 1996 based in the West Midlands, England and works throughout the region including Birmingham and surrounding counties. We have now setup a base in Scotland and we hope to run film, theatre, improv and music projects there soon.
